Terrible Teddy is a distinctive and stylish men's leather scent that joined the Portraits collection of British niche perfume brand Penhaligon's in 2019. Like all the aromatic compositions of the Portraits collection, the fragrance tells the story of its hero with a unique character and history.
According to the perfumer's idea, Terrible Teddy (and this is how the name of the perfume is translated) is a lover of thrills - travel, safari and love affairs. He's used to getting his way, but recently fell into a fiasco courting Helen Heartless (a feminine fragrance from the same collection), who chose him over another. The symbol of the fragrance is the rhinoceros, whose head adorns the golden cap of the bottle.
The perfume begins with a deep, almost mystical, smoky-aromatic incense that slowly blends into the thick, almost animalic scent of finely crafted leather. After sounding off, the perfume leaves a soft and noble aftertaste of the musky-amber-woody nuances of ambroxan.
